Commissioner Fukuda's Business Trip to Hong Kong and Singapore

From October 7 (Sun) to 11 (Thu) 2007, Commissioner Fukuda went on a business trip to Hong Kong and Singapore. In Hong Kong, the commissioner gave a lecture at the Advanced Financial Crime Prevention Symposium and visited the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong and the the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx). In Singapore, the commissioner visited the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Singapore Exchange (SGX).
At each destination on his visit, the Commissioner explained the outline of the new system of the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission and its basic policy from now on, and exchanged opinions on maintaining and reinforcing the cooperative relationship between both countries and about various pressing problems regarding the current status of the securities market.
